My Approach
I strive to create an inviting and affirming space where your emotions are honored as a source of wisdom. Together, we’ll explore what your feelings and body are communicating — not as problems to fix, but as guides toward greater self-awareness, deeper intimacy, and a deeper sense of agency in creating the life you want.
Our sessions often feel like talk therapy with deeper layers. Together, we explore not just what’s happening in your mind, but what your nervous system might be trying to communicate.
I draw from the following modalities:
Trauma-informed somatic psychotherapy: gently noticing how your body holds stress, protection, and resilience, and use that awareness to support healing and regulation.
Hakomi: slowing down to uncover core beliefs shaped by early experiences using mindfulness approaches.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)/parts work: getting to know the different parts of you—protective, vulnerable, and wise—and helping them work together with more compassion and balance.
Mindfulness & Breathwork – building the capacity to stay present with your inner experience and using the breath as a tool for grounding, regulation, and choice.
Multicultural approaches and liberation psychology: honoring how identity, culture, power, and systemic oppression shapes your experience, while supporting healing that is affirming, contextual, and empowering.
Psychodynamic: exploring how past relationships and unconscious patterns continue to influence how you feel, relate, and see yourself today.
Polyvagal-Informed Therapy – learning how your nervous system responds to stress and safety, and building tools to support regulation, presence, and resilience.
In our sessions, you can expect warmth, humor, and collaboration — a space that honors your story and the wisdom you already possess. We might slow down to notice how your breath or posture changes, where tension gathers in your body, or how a younger part of you shows up when you feel criticized or unseen. My approach is tailored to each individual I work with so my sessions can look vastly different depending on who I am working with and what works best for them.
I believe healing happens through relationship and safety — when all parts of you are welcomed and understood. I pay close attention to what happens between us and what is in the here-and-now. I think the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful tools we have, and I aim to be intentional about naming dynamics, ruptures, or protective patterns that show up in the moment. I show up with transparency and openness, and I welcome feedback as part of the process. I think of therapy as something we build together, moment by moment.

Working with Teens
I have extensive experience working with teens (specifically in residential programs, camps, and community centers) navigating anxiety, depression, family conflict, identity exploration, sexuality and the pressure to “have it together.” I approach my work with adolescents with a deep respect of their autonomy, inner world, and developing sense of self. Through my experience working with teens, I have found that integrating playfulness, creativity, movement and eco therapy (being in nature) can be especially supportive.
I collaborate with teens to identify goals that actually matter to them, while supporting emotional regulation and awareness, coping skills, and healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. When helpful, I involve caregivers to support communication and connection, always keeping the teens voice at the center of our work.
